Butter Chicken Naan Wraps

Creamy, flavorful, and wrapped in soft, buttery naan — the ultimate fusion of Indian comfort and classic street food.

Ingredients

For the Chicken Marinade:

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts, cut into cubes

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 2 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp cumin powder

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp salt

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 cup tomato puree

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

For the Wraps:

  • 4 soft naan breads (or flatbreads)

  • ½ cup shredded cheese (optional, for extra comfort)

  • 2 tbsp melted butter for brushing

  • Fresh cilantro and a spoon of yogurt sauce for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken:
    Mix all marinade ingredients in a bowl, add chicken, and coat well.
    Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (overnight for best flavor).

  2. Cook the Chicken:
    In a large pan, melt butter and add chicken pieces.
    Sauté until golden brown and nearly cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the Sauce:
    In the same pan, add chopped onions and cook until soft.
    Stir in tomato purée, sugar, salt, and simmer for 5–7 minutes.
    Add cream, stir well, and let the sauce thicken.

  4. Combine:
    Return chicken to the sauce and cook another 5 minutes until tender and creamy.

  5. Assemble Wraps:
    Warm naan, brush with melted butter, add butter chicken, and sprinkle cheese if desired.
    Wrap tightly and garnish with cilantro and a drizzle of yogurt sauce.
