Hot Honey Fried Chicken
Sweet, spicy, crispy — this comfort classic turns fried chicken into a flavor-packed treat with a golden chili-honey glaze.
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
1 kg (2.2 lb) chicken thighs or drumsticks
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups flour
1 tbsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
Oil for frying
For the Hot Honey Glaze:
½ cup honey
2 tbsp hot sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp chili flakes
Instructions
Marinate Chicken:
Soak chicken in buttermilk for at least 2 hours (overnight preferred).Prepare Coating:
In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, and salt.
Dredge each chicken piece in flour mixture until well coated.Fry the Chicken:
Heat oil in a deep skillet (about 170°C / 340°F).
Fry 2–3 pieces at a time for 12–15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
Place on paper towels to drain.Make the Hot Honey Glaze:
In a small saucepan, warm honey, hot sauce, vinegar, and chili flakes.
Stir until combined and glossy.Glaze the Chicken:
Brush or drizzle hot honey over the fried chicken while it’s still warm.
