Toad in the Hole (Sausages in Yorkshire Pudding Batter)

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 8 pork sausages

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 eggs

  • Salt & pepper

  • 2 tbsp oil or beef dripping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220 °C (425 °F). Put oil in a large baking dish; add sausages; bake ~10 min until lightly browned.

  2. Meanwhile, whisk flour, eggs, milk, salt & pepper into a smooth batter; let rest.

  3. Remove dish with sausages; pour batter over sausages. Immediately return to oven.

  4. Bake 25-30 minutes until batter is puffed & golden. Do not open door early.
